Abstract
The 3D cable design plays an important role in improving cable installation efficiency and reducing ship construction cycle. Firstly, this paper introduces the development of the cable installation at present and the trend in the future. Secondly, it introduces a 3D cable design method and its implementation which CIMC RAFFLES developed based on CATIA 3D software. Finally this paper discusses how the 3D cable design produces an important effect on each ship construction steps.
