Abstract
Trenchless technology is one of the rapidly developing areas in rehabilitation and replacement of gas pipes,sewer pipes and water mains.Pipe Bursting is one of the main methods of trenchless technology and it is the only renewal method of trenchless pipe rehabilitation in which a buried pipe can be replaced with a completely new pipe that functions independently of the existing line and permits the diameter of the new line to be increased.This paper presents an overview of three bursting systems and gives general information about the applicability,design considerations,and advantages of pipe bursting.
