Abstract
The main focus of the EU food safety policy was the safety of food supply before 1996,but the situation changed after “Mad Cow” crisis. Since then,the EU strengthened its monitoring over food safety,published the White Paper on Food Safety,and enacted a series of laws on food safety. In the meantime,to ensure the highest standard of safety from farm to table,it established an independent European Food Safety Authority to deal with matters concerning food safety.
