Abstract
We study the safety and efficacy of continuous estriol suppository in treatment of postmenopausal urogenital atrophy. 34 postmenopausal women with symptoms and signs of urogenital atrophy were treated by 0.5mg E_3 suppository for 21days. The symptoms and signs. vaginal healthy evaluations. vaginal MV、 endometrial thickness and other side effects were studied before and after treatment. After treatment, the symptoms and signs of all patients were released significantly, and 94.1 % patients' vaginal healthy evaluations improved as reproductive period women, and vaginal MV were increased greatly. There were 4 patients with endometrial thickness more than 5mm, two endmetrial assessments revealed proliferative endmetrium.We conclude that the E, vaginal suppository for treatment of postmenopausal urogenital atrophy is highly effective. If we decrease the days of treatment, the increasing of endometrial thickness and other side effects would decrease.
