On Zhang Dai's Artistic Category Theory

Zhang Dai was an eminent personage in the Late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.He made outstanding contributions to the history of culture in history,literature and art,especially in literary aesthetics with thoughtful ideas and orderly mind.Based on the first hand materials,this thesis makes a deep and systematic study of Zhang Dai's artistic category theory and holds that Zhang was a theoretician and writer who thoroughly understood the inseparably interconnected relationship of category in art and simultaneously put it into artistic practice.His analysis on basic category of opposites,such as reality and obscurity,unfamiliarity and familiarity,elegance and popularity,was considerably deep and full of dialectical spirit.With high theoretical value,his theory was the precious heritage in the history of artistic philosophy and is beneficial to today's literary and artistic creation and study.
