Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical and imaging characteristics of cerebellar infarction. Methods A retrospective analysis was perforrmed to the original dato of the 56 patients with eerebellar infarction from June 2002 to 2005 in our hospital. Results Vertigo and cerebellar ataxia were the most important and frequent symptoms of the cerebellar infarction, hypertension and heart diseases showed to be the main etiology and risking factors. Most cerebellar infarction occurred in patients while 60~65 years old.The positive ratio of cranial CT exa- mination in 48 hours was 32.2% and the cranial MRI examination was 100%.The cerebcllar herniation was the most important mortali- ty.Conclusion More attention should be paid to the elder patients with lasting vertigo and ataxia for the probability of cerebellar infarc- tion. The cranial MRI examination had abvious saperiority comparing with crania] CT in cerebellar infarction.
