Treatment of caldum hydroxide as an intracanal medicatio

Objective To evaluate and compare the efficacy of calcium hydroxide or formocresol as an intracanal medicament in root canal therapy periodontitis teeth.Methods A randomized study of intraca- nal placement of calcium hydroxide paste as a therapy for teeth with periapical periodontitis was per- formed.204 teeth with periapical periodontitis were randomly allocated to the formocresol group and the calci- um hydroxide group.The clinical efficacy after a one week period was observed.Results statistically signifi- cant differences between calcium hydroxide and formocresol was formed.Conclusion The investigation con- firms that calcium hydroxide paste were superior to formocresol as an intracanal medication in root canal ther- apy of periapical periodontitis teeth.
