Abstract
A novel flow injection procedure was developed for the determination of pyrogallol based on the enhancement of the chemiluminescence from luminol-K 3Fe(CN) 6 system by pyrogallol. The method is simple with high sensitivity and selectivity in a wide linear range. It is applicable for the determination of pyrogallol in the range of 3 0×10 -9 -1 0×10 -6 mol/L with a detection limit of 1 0×10 -9 mol/L. The relative standard deviation is 2 8% for the determination of 5 0×10 -8 mol/L pyrogallol ( n =11). This method has been successfully applied to determine the content of pyrogallol in a pyrolysis mixture of gallic acid.
