Abstract

The effects of phenol on nitrosation process were investigated in a SBBR.The results show that it is helpful to the normal growth and metabolism of nitrosobacteria and the acceleration of nitrosation reaction when the influent phenol concentration is less than or equal to 60 mg/L.But when the influent phenol concentration is more than or equal to 120 mg/L,nitrosobacteria are inhibited,and the inhibition is enhanced with the increase of phenol concentration.The removal of phenol in the nitrosation system experiences adsorption and biodegradation by the biofilm.
