Abstract
Objective:To seek the clinical and pathological features, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis of laryngeal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor(IMT).Methods:One case of laryngeal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor was analyzed retrospectively and studied with light microscopy and immunohistochemical staining,as well as review of the literature. Results:Presenting symptoms of Laryngeal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor included hoarseness and dysphoniaetal.Diagnosis of laryngeal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor depended on pathologic features.Laryngeal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor consisted of myofibroblastic spindle cells with chronic inflammatory cells.Immunohistochemical staining demonstrated that Vimentin was expressed positively in the tumor. Conclusion:Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor of larynx is a rare benign neoplasm. These tumors have the potential for local invasion and recurrence.Complete surgical management of laryngeal preservation is advocated.Prognosis of laryngeal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is well.
