Abstract
Coupled vibration problems of a simple flexible beam subjected to a moving load have attracted increasingly more attention. The vibration of a simple flexible beam subjected to a moving mass suspending a pendulum was studied in relation to the fatigue, strength, and safety problems of a flexible beam subjected to a moving force.Based on the Hamilton principle, the coupling dynamic differential equations of this beam were derived. The assumed mode method was used to discretize the equations.Newmark step by step integration and Matlab were used to simulate and visualize the results. The results show that the mass, velocity, and acceleration of a moving load have some effects on the vibration of the beam.
