Abstract
Objective To analyze the differences in size and density of paraspinal muscles between young females patients with non-specific chronic low back pain and healthy subjects. Methods Bilateral paraspinal muscles (erector spinae,multifidus muscle,longissimus muscle,quadratus lumborum,and psosa major muscle) of the lower end-plate of L4 level were measured with cross section area and average density. Results (1) The cross section areas of bilateral erector spinae and multifidus muscle,right psosa major muscle with young females patients with non -specific chronic LBP were less than those of control group(P0.05). (2) The average densities of bilateral erector spinae and multifidus muscle,right psosa major muscle with young females patients with non-specific chronic LBP were lower than those of control group (P0.05). Conclusion Young female patients with non-specific chronic LBP often accompany atrophy of paraspinal musles. And CT measurement could reflect those changes better.
