Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of automatic early-warning information system on the infectious disease outbreak in Haikou city, in order to improve early warning efficiency. METHODS According to the evaluation index including sensitivity, positive predictive value and lead time, descriptive method was on Haikou infectious disease outbreak early warning effect analysis from 2008 to 2010. RESULTS There were 27 cases of infectious disease outbreak from 2008 to 2010 in Haikou city. The early warning from system warning information was sent out 1796 times, of which 9 cases were outbreak incident. The sensitivity was 33.33%, and the positive predictive value of 0.50%. The lead time of 8 incidents was negative. CONCLUSION The accuracy and timeliness on the system of infectious disease outbreak early-warning is not so well, it should be based on the work situation for different diseases for adjusting the warning threshold and setting the early-warning diseases.
