Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of P-glycoprotein(P-gp),lung resistance protein(LRP) in the human cervical squmous cancer, and its guiding significance in the chemotherapy of cervical carcinoma. Methods The expression and positive rate of the P-gp coding gene(mdr1),LRP coding gene(lrp)were examined by Real time RT-PCR and immunohistochemical assay in 30 specimens of cervical squamous cell carcinoma tissue(cervical cell carcinoma group)and 30 specimens of normal cervical tissue(normal group). The correlation between mdr1 and lrp,P-gp and LRP,the expression of P-gp,LRP and clinicopathology parameters were examined. Results In cervical cell carcinoma group and normal group, the mRNA expression of mdr1 was 45.830±0.570,43.567±0.151,the mRNA expression of lrp was 49.989±0.762,45.138±0.550,the protein positive rate of P-gp was 83.3%,20%,the protein positive rate of LRP was 86.7%,26.7%(all P0.01);The expression and positive rate were not significantly correlated between mdr1 mRNA and lrp mRNA,P-gp and LRP(P0.05).Conclusions Co-detection of the expression of P-gp and LRP in human cervical squmous cell carcinoma may be useful in selecting anticancer-drugs.
