Analysis of serum leptin in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease

Abstract

Objective To investigate serum leptin in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods The content of serum leptin was detected by using radio immunoassay(RIA)kits.Results The content of serum leptin was significantly higher in patients with NAFLD than in controls[(3.6±1.8)vs(3.0±2.0)μg/ml,P0.01],but there was no correlation between the content of serum leptin with the severity of NAFLD.Conclusion Abnormal content of serum leptin may connect to the pathogenesis of NAFLD.
