Abstract
The coordination effect of chitosan with Ni 2+ was studied by IR, ESR, XPS and specific conductivity. It was comfirmed that the CS Ni 2+ coordinaticn polymer is high spin and there are six coordination bonds of three N and three O ligands from three CS residues around Ni 2+ . The coordination number of CS La 3+ coordination polymer was studied by XPS, IR and specific conductivity. The result shows that the CS La 3+ coordination polymer involves five oxygen atoms and five nitrogen atoms per La 3+ , so the coordination number is 10.
