Abstract
Objective To detect the hemodynamic indexes of portal vein system by color Doppler flow imaging, and evaluate the relationship between the hemodynamic indexes and cirrhotic sever- ity in different liver functions. Methods The hemodynamics of portal vein system was assessed in 32 patients with chronic hepatitis B,94 patients with posthepatitic cirrhosis(36 cases in group A,34 cases in group B and 24 cases in group C according to the grading of Child-Pugh) and 30 normal persons. Results The portal vein diameter, spleen vein diameter, portal vein flow quantity and spleen vein flow quantity showed an increased tendency with the damage of liver function, while the portal vein velocity showed- a descent tendency. Conclusion The portal vein diameter, spleen vein diameter, portal vein flow quantity, spleen vein flow quantity and portal vein velocity are the most sensitive indicators in evaluating liver function and portal hypertension.
