Abstract
Objective To compare the practical results of two post cores ( Anthogyr root-canal stainless steel post and glass-fiber post) through the methods of instantly restoring the residual crown and then restoring the residual crown for permanent ceramic crown. Methods One hundred and twenty-two patients with 130 tooth were randomly divided into two groups, every group was 65 tooth. Two methods ( Anthogyr root-canal stainless steel post and glass-fiber post) were used for restoring the molar residual crown respectively, and every group was treated through light-cure tetric ceram repairing the residual crown and then then restoring the residual crown for permanent ceramic crown. The operation time and the success rate were compared. Results Two years follow-up showed,in the group of Anthogyr root-canal stainless steel post three stainless steel post were curved and displaced, and the operation time was shorter than that of group of glass-fiber post ( P 0. 01) . But there was no statistical significance in the success rate between the two kinds of posts ( P 0. 05 ). Conclusion The anthogyr root-canal stainless steel post and the glass-fiber post have similar curative effect. But the former which has advantages of special design, hard retainer, simple operation and lower cost, is worth popularizing and applying.
