Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the method and advantage of SEPS in treatment of patients with lower limb perforating vein insufficiency. Methods:Eighteen varicose patients with lower limb perforating vein insufficiency underwent surgery.Several surgical procedures were performed including SEPS?flush saphenofemoral ligation?limited stripping of the long saphenous and percutaneous continuous venule suture. Results:The surgery obviously improved venous disability, varicose vein and local pigmentation.Ulcers healed in 6 cases 2 weeks after surgery. All the cases have no surgical complications and no recurrence after 16 months following up averagely. Conclusions:SEPS is a safe and effective technique with advantages of minor injury, low complication rate and low recurrence rate.It dose have value in the clinic treatment of varicose with lower limb perforating vein insufficiency.
