Abstract

Adiponectin is one of the adipocytokines that is derived from adipose tissue.Adiponectin is related to some diseases associated with insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and atherosclerosis..Its receptors mediate all kinds of biological function of adiponectin.Adiponectin gene polymorphism perhaps affects the expression and function of adiponectin.Studies about its gene polymorphism and receptor will be helpful to recognize the molecular mechanism of action of adiponectin.
