Abstract
Objective To study the effects of visual and aural combined training on the working memory and cognition function of patients with frontal craniocerebral injury. Methods Forty inpatients diagnosed as having frontal craniocerebral injury and confirmed by mini- mental state examination(MMSE) as suffering from cognition disorder, were in 2012 divided according to random number table as trial group and control group, with 20 in each group. The patients in the control group were given guide of conventional cognition rehabilitation, while those in the trial group were given visual and aural combined training for 30- 40 min daily,5 times per week. The course was 3 months. Then working memory was evaluated using Wechsler Memory Scale(WMS- RC),and cognition function was evaluated using Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment(LOTCA).Results Compared with the control group, the scores of comprehension, recited numbers and accumulated point test,as well as the total score in WMS- RC were higher(P 0.05).And the scores of orientation, space, visual movement and thinking in LOTCA were higher(P 0.05).Conclusion Visual and aural combined training can improve the working memory and cognition function in patients with frontal craniocerebral injury.
