Long-term preservation of osmic acid fixative solution

Abstract
Objective:To explore a highly feasible and easy method for the long-term preservation of osmic acid fixative solution.Methods:Osmic acid fixative solution(1%) was frozen at freezer(general size in lab) in 3 groups,which were divided into 6-month group,12-month group and 24-month group,respectively.Results:The electronmicroscope pictures from the 6month group,12-month group and 24-month group showed that the tissue ultrastructure was as clear as the pictures from the control group.Conclusion:The Osmic acid fixative solution may be frozen for long-term preservation,with no change in its working potency and functions after freezing.
