Abstract

Confucian ideology is the mainstream of traditional Chinese thinking, which has far—reaching influence on various aspects of Chinese culture. The Confucian ideology of keeping fit has reflected the basic teachings of Confucianism and has had significant influences on the theories and practice of the Chinese way of keeping fit. Confucius advocates greatly the culture embodied in the six classical books, which are the Poems, the Book, the Ritual, the of Change, the Music and Happiness, and the Chun and Qiu Period. By means of literature review and comparative method, the authors have consulted a great amount of materials to reveal the influence of the two classical books, the Poems and the Book on the advancement of the Confucian ideology of keeping fit.
