Abstract
Of 6,4 Southern catfishes have been induced to ovulation by using different drugs. The serum GTH level increased from 345μg to 6985μg during the ovulation after injection of LHRHA and hCG,but it decreased to 979μg quickly after ovulation.A peak of serum GTH level was also found in the unovulated fish after injection of the same dose of LHRH-A and hCG. However the level increased only 5 times, which was much lower than that of the ovulated fish. And this phenomenon was found after injection of LHRH-A and DOM. The level increased only 6 times. All the results suggested that the GTH was important to induce the final maturation of oocyte and ovulation in the Southern catfish.
