Abstract
A protein elicitor isolated from \%Xanthomonas oryzae\% pv. \%oryzae\% can enhanced rice resistance to X. oryzae pv. oryzae. Activity of defense-related enzymes, such as PAL and PO, was increased in rice plants treated with the protein elicitor. The protein was purified by Rotofor~TM Proparature IEF Electrophoresis (RPIE) and Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography (FPLC). Molecular weight of the protein elicitor is 47.9kD. Based on these data, we concluded that protein elictor was purified and contributes to induced rice resistance to X. oryzae pv. oryzae.
