Research status and prospect of Modaomen estuary of Pearl River

In the combination of development and harnessing history of Modaomen estuary of Pearl River,the main research achievements about dynamic landform,estuary structure and function,comprehensive harnessing are summarized and the research status on Modaomen estuary is evaluated. For the future,the research of Modaomen estuary can be conducted from the following aspects: ①estuarine interface theory; ②quantitative estuarine response to human activities; ③ beach and channel evolution law and harnessing strategy; ④ wave observation and analysis outside the river mouth.
