Condom Use of Male STD Patients and Its Influence Factors

Abstract
Objective To know the condom use status of male STD patients and its influence factors. Methods 312 male STD patients, who had sexual activities during their course of disease, were selected in three STD clinics in Luan city from February to August of 2004 and detailed interviews were performed with anonymous questionnaires among them. Results 12.6% of the patients used condom consistently, 44% of them used condom occasionally, 19% of them didn't use condom. The patients' educational level、the understanding of STD/AIDS、the affection on sexual pleasant sensation and living in the city or countryside were the important factors affecting the condom use .Conclusions According to the above-mentioned influence factors, we should take preventive measures, which include providing health counseling and convenient way for patients to gain condom.
