Abstract
Five soil samples of counties along the line of highway in Shandong Province were dissolved with nitric acid-hydrofluoric acid-perchloric acid. Content of heavy metals including lead, chromium, zinc, iron, cadmium and nickel was analyzed and measured using atomic absorption spectroscopy to investigate the existing forms and accumulation of heavy metals in soil along the line of highway. Results showed that the content of iron was higher while the content of other heavy metals were all very low and soil was not polluted in general.
