Confucianism and Wang Mang

Mang received Confucian education ever since his childhood.He devoted himself to Confucian value and made great efforts to practice it.Hence,he was the leader of Confucianism at the end of Western Han dynasty.Since the reign of Emperor Ping,Wang Mang had come to power and vigorously supported Confucianism.He conducted a large-scale practice of the political ideals of Confucianism.He supported Confucianism so that the system was to be changed,namely Wang Mang's Reformation of System.The essence of Mang's reformation was to make use of Confucian political ideal mode to solve the increasingly serious social problems since Qin and Han dynasties.This reformation movement led by Mang was in fact a Confucian process of the political system.After the establishment of Eastern Han dynasty,a clarified rearrangement is made of Mang's Reformation of System.However,in terms of Confucianism and Confucian political institutionalization,things in many respects remained the same.Consequently,a foundation of Confucianism getting involved in constructing the political system was set up.For this reason,we can see that Mang's Reformation of System exerted a profound influence upon the development of the political system in later dynasties.
