Abstract
Based on the spatial panel data of 31 provinces( autonomous region, municipality) from 2000 to 2012,this paper discusses the effects of tourism industry development on shrinking regional economic disparity with spatial calculating method. The conclusions indicate that tourism industry plays different roles in different regions. Tourism industry can shrink provincial economic disparity on national scale, and promote different provinces to get balanced growth, and the same role in the overland region; although industry enlarges provincial economic disparity in the coastal region, every region should still pay attertion to tourism industry development. The conclusions prove that the policy of paying attention to tourism industry development in the overland region is effective.
