Abstract

Qian Zhong-shu,famous in ancient and modern Chinese scholarship with foreign leaning,had a preference for poetry of the Song Dynasty like his friends who are fond of literature of the Song Dynasty.He gave a lot of profound understanding about poetry in his book Tan Yi Lu of the 1930s and 1940s.And Huai Ju Shi Gun is similar in style with poetry of the Song Dynasty.According to his poetic thought and with elaborate selection,he compiled Selected Poems of the Song Dynasty,adding new artistic value and creativeness to them.Therefore,his scholarly spirit is presented to readers.
