Abstract
It is very harsh to control the trailing edge thickness in manufacturing modern steam turbine blades. To investigate the aerodynamic characteristics under the different trailing edge thickness of cascade,a static cascade and a rotor cascade,as well as their improved cascads of different trailing edge thickness are analyzed by numerical calculation methods detailedly. The results indicate that the convergence degree of cascade decreases with the trailing edge thickness increasing and the load of leading edge decreases accordingly. It is equivalent to load retrusion,as well, the decrease of angle of exit flow, and the increase of loss of cascade and end width. The research results have an important referential meaning for understanding the effect of trailing edge thickness on the flow field in turbine cascades.
