Abstract
Aim:To investigate the expression of matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP 2) mRNA in esophageal carcinoma. Methods:Tumor tissues and adjacent normal tissues in 41 cases of esophageal carcinoma were studied by using the reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT PCR).Results:The expression rate of MMP 2 mRNA in tumor tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent tumor tissues( P 0.05),and it was so as in esophageal carcinoma with lymph node metastasis and that without metastasis( P 0.05).Conclusion: MMP 2 may play an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis in esophageal carcinoma.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
