Abstract
Based on a three-dimensional modeling software named UG,The paper made comprehensive use of Part Family Spreadsheet in UG and a series of UG/Open tapping tools to develop a module for three dimensional parametric design of wheel rims.During the development,Part Family was employed to create the database of rim variable parameters,and then UG/Open MenuScript and UG/Open UIStyler were made use of respectively to design module's menu and dialog box,and finally UG/Open API and C programming language were exploited to make corresponding calling programs.In this way was realized fast and accurate design of wheel rims.
