Manufacturing Technology of Al Foam Sandwich

Foam aluminums are a new,as yet imperfectly characterized,class of materials with low densities and novel physical,mechanical,thermal,electrical and acoustic properties.One of the potential uses of foam aluminum is used as aluminum foam sandwich.In this paper different manufacture methods of aluminum foam sandwich are intro- duced,such as glue bonding,ultrasonic welding,laser assisted foaming,diffusion bonding,cladding-rolling bonding, powder sandwich rolling and so on.By comparison,the powder sandwich rolling process is simple and a promising manufacture method,which is suitable to high temperature work and can be produced in bulk.
