Clinical Observations on the Treatment of Cervical Vertigo by the Combination of Acupuncture and Medication

Purpose To investigate the effect of qi replenishing and stasis removing herbs plus acupuncture in the treatment of cervical vertigo. Methods A retrospective summary was made of recent years' treatment of cervical vertigo. An acupuncture herb group as a treatment one and a Western medicine group as a control one, 124 cases each, were randomly selected and the curative effects were analyzed. Results The marked effectiveness rate and the total effective rate were 54.85% and 96.77% , respectively, in the treatment group and 32.26% and 90.32% , respectively, in the control group. The curative effect was better in the treatment group than in the control group ( P 0.05). Conclusion Combined acupuncture and herbs have a better effect than Western medicine in the treatment of cervical vertigo.
