On the awareness of life in the poems of Wei and Jin dynasty

Wei and Jin Dynasty was a period in which the awareness of life of men of letter reached the highest point. The period may be called the period of life. The men of letter focused their attention to social reality with the sharp awareness of life, nature and expression of themselves. They expressed their sadness and depression, frustration and sufferings, their ideals and pursuit of ambition and their expression that life is short. This style of writing formed the period of sadness and frustration in the history of Chinese literature. The poems of this period may as well be called the poems of life in the history of Chinese literature.
