Implication of Lao Zi's Taoism

Lao Zi's Taoism represents the ultimate concern of the mankind. The most outstanding contribution Lao Zi made is that he made Taoism possess the connotation of the origin, the noumenon and the ultimate support of the social life. Therefore, Lao Zi established a monument to the Chinese culture. Being an extremely special existence rather than an ordinary material or spiritual entity, Taoism has some characteristics, such as actual but aeriform, beyond sense and language, unrefined and simple, void and tranquil, both having and not-having, independent and eternal, nature and inaction. Taoism not only has very high value for the modern physics, but also implies the abundant value of the social life, which enlightens modern people in overcoming the nihilism to a considerable degree.
