Determination of Ephedrine Hydrochloride in Zhisouqingguo Mixture by HPLC

Abstract

Objective:To establish a HPLC method for the content determination of ephedrine hydrochloride in zhisouqingguo mixture.Methods:Kromasil-C18 column (4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm) was used for separation.The mobile phase was acetonitrile-0.1% phosphoric acid (0.1% triethylamine) (3∶97).The flow rate was 1.0 mL. min-1,and the detection wavelength was set at 207 nm.Results:The linear range of ephedrine hydrochloride was 0.406 ~ 1.596 μg and the regression equation:y = 738.3x + 0.034 7 (r = 0.999 9,n = 5).The average recovery rate was 98.9% with RSD = 0.8%.The content of ephedrine hydrochloride in zhisouqingguo mixture should not be less than 0.260 mg. mL-1.Conclusion:This method for the content determination of ephedrine hydrochloride is simple and accurate,which can be used for the quality control of zhisouqingguo mixture.
