Abstract
AZ91D magnesium alloy was welded with consubstantial welding wire by TIG welding. The microstructure feature and mechanical properties of joint have been analyzed by analysis methods such as optical microscope,XRD,tensile testing machine and Brinell hardness tester. The results show that,at 140 A welding currents and 12 L/min Ar flowed, the tensile strength of the welded joints is about 80% of the base metal, and that tensile samples always fractured at heat affected zones. The microstructure is a finely equiaxed crystal in the welded zone, consisting of α-Mg and Mg17Al12,which are finer than that of base metal.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
