Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between H.pylori-associated disease of upper digestive tract and recurrent aphthous ulcer. Methods With the surveyed of RAU,the distribution of H.pylori in the saliva and gastric mucosa of 150 patients with disease of upper digestive tracted by polymerase chain reaction and rapid urease test were analyzed. The relationship between dental caries and patients whose saliva was H.pylori-positive was evaluated. Results The RAU rate in H.pylori-associated disease of upper digestive tract was 50.94%(27/53),which was significantly higher than the H.pylori-negative[13.40%(13/97)](P0.001).The RAU rate in patients whose saliva was H.pylori-positive was 24.72%(22/89),which did not have obvious difference from H.pylori-negative [29.51%(18/61)](P0.05).The dental caries could be found obvious variance in the two groups(P0.05);No significant difference was found between the H.pylori-positive rate in saliva and in gastric mucosa(P0.05).Conclusion The results show that H.pylori-associated disease of upper digestive tract is closely involved in RAU and indicate that H.pylori in oral is related to dental caries.
