Abstract
Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effects of renal failure prescription of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) on chronic renal failure(CRF) during a long or short time. Methods: 239 cases of CRF were randomly divided into simple western medicine(WM) treated group (94 cases) and integrated traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine (TCM - WM) treated group(145 cases). Results: The concentration of blood urea nitrogen(BUN) and serum creatin(Scr) significantly reduced after the treatment in TCM-WM group(P 0. 01 ). The slope of 1/Scr to time was 20. 32 ×10 -4 by retression analysis. and it indicated the progress of renal failure was delayed and the renal function of some patients was improved in TCM - WM group. The efficiency (83. 45 % ) in TCM - WM was significantly higher than that (75. 96 % ) in WM group (P 0. 01) with comprehensive clinical analysis. The freauency(18% ) of end stage kidney deCline(ESKD) in TCM- WM was significantly lower than that(38.23% ) in WM group(P0. 05) when the follow- up was over 3 months. Conclusion:The development of renal failure can be delayed by using renal failure prescription of CMD.
