Abstract

In this paper, the equivalence of the angular-spectrum representation and the first Rayleigh-Sommerfeld diffraction formula is demonstrated simply by coordinate transformation and the approximate formulas-Fresnel-Kirchoff diffraction, Fresnel diffraction, Fraunhofer diffraction are derived directly from the angular-spectrum representation.
