On the Differentiation and Fusion between Scientific Spirit and Ethical Spirit

Abstract

There has been a long debate over the proper relationship between scientific spirit and ethical spirit.Based on the conceptual analysis of spirit,scientific spirit and ethical spirit and their common characteristic of freedom,the author reviewed the original background and probed into the essence of the ongoing controversy and held that the real difference between scientific spirit and ethical spirit lies in the scope,objects and aspects of their stipulation rather than in the freedom of spirit.Thus only from the perspective of the relationship between science and freedom can we grasp the substance and its significance of the current debate.
