Abstract
The temperature field around the crack tip in a current carrying plate with a penetrated arc crack under the action of transient pulse current was calculated and analyzed using complex function analysis solution. This solution was obtained on the condition that the power of point heat source was deduced under the action of transient pulse current, which was the basis of solving the stress field around the crack tip. The calculated examples were provided. If a current with proper intensity has been switched on, the goal of controlling the melting and welding dimension effectively around the crack tip can be obtained.
