Abstract
Objective To study the clinical value of color Doppler sonography in the diagnosis of iatrogenic femoral pseudoaneurysm and femoral arteriovenous fistula. Methods Twenty-six patients suffering from pulsed mass in the right injuinal region or presenting abnormal vascular murmur after cardiac catheterization, thus suspected of having femoral pseudoaneurysm or arteriovenous fistula, were detected by color Doppler sonography. Results Twenty patients were correctly diagnosed as femoral pseudoaneurysm and 6 as femoral arteriovenous fistula by color Doppler sonography. Conclusions Color Doppler sonography is the procedure of choice to help diagnosing the femoral pseudoaneurysm or arteriovenous fistula after catheterization.
