Abstract

The status of study and development of methane special adsorbents for natural gas vehicles at home and abroad is described. It is indicated that the technology of adsorbed natural gas(ANG) at mild pressures will be an alternative of the one of compressed natural gas(CNG),which has been used widely at present. The key of this technology is the development of natural gas special adsorbents. Many works have been made in this field, and some excited results have been obtained. The adsorbents prepared at home from lignose can adsorb the equal or more amount of natural gas at 3.5MPa than that one of CNG at 20MPa.
