Abstract
Reporter gene is an important tool of analyzing the relationship of the potential cis-acting element(promoter,enhancer and silencer etc) and trans-acting factors in the research field of modern molecular bi-ology.With the advantages of convenient,reliable,high sensitivity and suitable for large-scale detection,it plays an important role in analyzing molecular mechanism of gene temporal and spatial regulation and ex-pression.Developed reporter genes(Chloramphenicol acetyltransferase,β-galactosidase,Luciferase,fluo-rescent protein etc)and the application in animal,plant,microorganism and medicine are reviewed,pro-viding new clues and ideas for the further application in the future.
