Hyperbaric oxygen treatment for the radiation encephalopathy in chronic and thorathic spinal cord

Objective To investigate the clinical application and machanism of hyperbaric oxygen treatment for the radiation encephalopathy.Methods Comparative study were maded in 12 cases of early radiation encephalopathy with hyperbaric oxygen treatment and 10 cases with routine treament.Results Treatment cffective rates with and without hyperbaric oxygen treatment were 66.66% and 54.54%.No closed relationship between radiaton doses and resulte of hyperbaric oxygen treament.There were higher probability of cure rate when two course of hyperbaric oxygen treatment was maded the higher probability of cure rate will be when earler uses of hyperbaric oxygen treatment.Conclusion Hyperbaric oxygen treatment is one of the effective treatment mathods for the radiation encephalopathy.
