Abstract

In order to study the relationship between bcl-2 and p53 protein expression and their clinicopathological significance in the non-small-cell lung carcinoma, the lung carcinoma tissues from 62 patients were detected with immunohistochemical S-P method.20 cases (32.26%) were positive of bcl-2 protein, and 15 cases of them were squamous-cell carcinomas,5 cases of them were adenocarcinoma;49 cases (79.03%) were positive of p53 protein, and 34 cases of them were squamous-cell carcinoma,15 cases of them were adenocarcinoma.Statistically significant difference existed after comparing(P0 01).The results showed that there was a close correlation between expression intensity of bcl-2,p53 and differentiation degree of lung carcinoma. The expressions of both bcl-2 and p53 were negatively related. The survival time of the patients was associated with positive rate of p53 expression, but it has not a close associated with bcl-2 expression, suggesting the in situ detection of bcl-2,p53 proteins in non-small-cell lung carcinomas might be helpful for the diagnosis of lung carcinoma and has an important prognostic significance.
